The winners were announced at a grand reception held August 15, 2006, during the 61st Annual Workers' Compensation Educational Conference at the World Center Marriott in Orlando. The annual program honors Florida workers' compensation physicians and practices who are committed to high standards of care for workers' compensation. To identify the winners, a multi-level process is used based on criteria such as history of delivering consistent, high-quality care, promoting a return-to-work philosophy and achieving a high rate of patient satisfaction. Physicians are nominated by people involved in Florida's workers' compensation system, including risk managers, claims professionals, nurse case managers, adjusters, employers, and physician staff as well as injured employees.
